Regardless of how many votes Barr gets, it won't make any difference to the LP. Ross Rerot got 20% of the vote in 1992. What did that do for the Reform party? Jesse Ventura won the Governorship of Minnesota. What did that do for the Reform party? Nothing, because they, like the LP, had no farm team of credible candidates with experience in lower level elected office.

What is the mission of the LP?

BTW, Bob Barr WILL make the ballot in New Hampshire. The Number One petitioner from the Illinois Libertarian Party drive is now on the ground in NH. Rest assured, this individual is about the best in the land. He will make damn sure Barr makes it. And that's a promise.

I wonder what Val Vetter thinks now that Bob Barr is polling 6% in the latest Zogby poll, even beating Ralph Nader who is at 2%?

Val said to you that he worried about a less than 1% showing for the LP candidate, and that such a candidate may bolt the Party after the race.

Well, now, Barr is at 6% (!!). This is truly amazing. The very best Libertarian race of all time!! (Ed Clark's high in 1980 was less than 1 million votes - Barr's beating that now 6 times over.)

Speaking for New Hampshire, it's no threat, it's a reality: George will be on the ballot. NH doesn't provide for substitution. We might have 2 Libertarians on the ballot, if Barr gets enough petitions.
